One more day until our office gets prepared for the paint job. It will probably be a shock at first. It has been so long being in the office (over 7 years) with one colour. I hope everyone likes the results. A light purple is the only way I can describe the colour that was voted on at our members meeting.

Attendance is growing at PSO. Our daily average has gone up dramatically. I wonder what has changed. Is it the groups like peer support, writers, gamers & the morning recovery group? I don't think so. PSO has been offering some of these groups for years but attendance was relatively low at times.

Maybe it's because groups like us are being recognized by mainstream mental health as a valuable resource and Doctors are not wary of recommending us to their patients. If this is the case, It's about time. The value of a place to go where people feel accepted is invaluable. It has been for me.

I had a good day today. All of the staff got together and did some short and long term planning. So far so good. I made a phone call to my doctor's office that I've been putting off for some time now. Boy did that feel good! Procrastination can sure add to a person's stress level.

A special thanks to all who participated at our planning day this past Saturday. We had a good turnout with about 30 members attending and great ideas for the upcoming year. It was good to see so many members actively participating in the running of PSO.

Remember that we are closed on Monday for staff development day. Have a good rest of the weekend all!

I'm almost finished my first week. Except for one day when I had a panic attack on the way to my Doctor's appointment, it has been very positive. Thank you all who were very welcoming & helped me to get back into the work routine. I anticipate a more positive and less stressful work experience.
